Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, we were unable to hold our planned Focus meeting on Friday, 3rd April, 2020 with a presentation by Blood Bikers, Manchester as the Methodist Church was closed.  The People’s History Museum, Manchester, venue for our proposed visit on Saturday, 16th May has also been closed since 17th March.  Our 2019/2020 programme was due to finish with a presentation by Anne Vaughan on ‘Amazing Morocco’ on Friday, 12th June, followed by programme planning for the 2020/2021 session, commencing in September.  That meeting will not take place either!

I have contacted both our speakers with the intention of rescheduling ‘Blood Bikes, Manchester’ and ‘Amazing Morocco’ in the Methodist Church this autumn.  We hope to defer our trip to Manchester, including a guided tour of the People’s History Museum, to the equivalent Saturday, 15th May in 2021.  Once we have a clearer idea of what lies ahead, the 2020/2021 programme will be planned.  As we are losing our opportunity to discuss the coming programme face-to-face, please send any suggestions for speakers, a New Year’s meal etc to Barbara Smith at barbara.smith47@hotmail.com or phone me on 537301 by Friday, 12th June.’

We haven’t done anything specific to keep in touch, apart from joining folk on the Zoom Sunday worship at St Luke’s or the Wednesday evening Zoom worship from the Methodist Church or seeing them at a socially acceptable distance on rambles.

Please include whatever you like from the above, Alan.  I’ll leave you to fine tune the Focus contribution.  It’ll be good to have something folk can access on the internet whilst current government restrictions continue.  I’d hate anyone to think I’ve ‘thrown in the towel’ having led this group since 1981!

Every blessing,

Barbara
