Genesis remains on Zoom at 9.45am- 10.15am. This therefore allows us to join the first part of the church service which starts at 10.30am so we can share our learning with the congregation. There is no expectation that Genesis will stay for the whole service, perhaps just 15 minutes of it, but of course you are welcome to do so.
7th February
David honours God and spares Saul’s life, and David dances for the Lord (1 Samuel 24 v1-20 and Psalm 146)
14th February
Shrove Tuesday and preparing for Lent (#Love Lent: God’s story: our story)
21st February
All Age Family Service – No Genesis
28th February
Lent – Jesus preparing and fasting. (Luke 4 v1-13 and Matthew 4 v1-11)

Welcome back to Genesis after the summer break. We hope you were able to enjoy days out or mini staycations during the school holidays. It seemed that quite a few of us managed a few days on Anglesey and North Wales.
Having explored the Church of England advice, we are likely to keep Genesis on Zoom up to and including Christmas. We will return to weekly sessions from September and these will start at the slightly earlier time of 9.45am- 10.15. This will allow us to then join the first part of the church service which starts at 10.30am so we can share our learning with the congregation (in a similar way to how we did when we went across to Church). There is no expectation that Genesis will stay for the whole service, perhaps just 15 minutes of it, but of course you are welcome to do so.
Please contact one of the Genesis Team for the Zoom ID numbers and passcodes for Genesis and the St Luke’s service.

We are now looking towards Easter and beginning to explore what is coming up. Our focus will be ‘service’ and we shall be exploring how Jesus showed service to others and how we too, following His example, can serve others. This will be based on Matthew 20 verse 28 ‘ I did not come to be served but to serve.’
Our programme for March will be:
1st March – Using our talents to serve others as the hands and feet of God. Let our light shine.
8th March – Mothering Sunday preparations.
15th March – All age family worship
22nd March – Genesis and Mothering Sunday. Genesis contribution to the Church Service.
29th March – Service in communities: The work of Mother Teresa.
Can we just remind everyone that we do have a Church collection plate in Genesis which we leave on a table at the entrance to the Church Hall. If you would like to make a donation to the Church it can be placed in the offering plate which is then taken across to Church. Alternatively, you might like to gift aid your offering by placing your donation in a Church envelope. I have these envelopes available in Genesis and leave them by the collection plate for your convenience.
We hope all this information is useful.
If you know of anyone who is thinking about coming to Genesis and would appreciate a newsletter or phone call, please do let us know.
Also, as part of the wider Church network group each class teacher takes responsibility for praying for the children in their group and their families. If there is anyone you would like us to include in our prayers please also do let us know if we can be of any help or support.
